...just when all of the '80s technologies really penetrated our lives." Douglas Coupland, Microserfs
I'm not generally pre-disposed to self-pity*.
But I haven't received a single email in either of my inboxes today. Not even spam. It's a sad thing when you allow the non-appearance of a few digital letters to sway your mood. I'm such a child of my generation. It comes out in lack of emails; no messages on the answerphone; lack of comments on your weblog; no phonecalls for a day**.
Except that as I've been writing this a nice fat email plopped with a thud on my digital doormat. Wahoo! I can continue my day knowing that someone out there remembered me for a few seconds in their working day.
*may not be 100% true.
**although my bf may just call that "Being A Princess, Dearest"
For Ben:
And true love waits
In haunted attics
And true love lives
On lollipops and crisps
Love you.
