But I felt like doing a bit of bonus wiblogging.
I have the queen of all first aid kits in my bedroom at the moment. It is recovering from mission. I am... looking after it... Anyway, part of looking after it is using the stuff in it and then replenishing it myself so that stuff doesn't go out of date before it is needed again next year. This is sort of good because I like to try out things that I sell. Tonight I had sore legs. For me this means dehydration. So I decided to try the rehydration solution.
Now when I sell this stuff my standard line is "It all tastes fairly foul but I am told that the effervescent blackcurrant is the least bad". So being a caring first aider, I bought the effervescent blackcurrant flavour for the first aid kit. I was talking to a friend at work about it today and she said "Mmmmm it's really nice! Tastes like Ribena!". I did, at the time, wonder how this could be if it also reputed to taste disgusting. But S's enthusiasm is infectious and I found myself believing that somehow I had it all wrong.
So tonight, I make up my drink. Two tablets in 200mL of water. The tablets smell really nice. A bit like the blackcurrant flavoured effervescent potassium tablets I used to dispense for one of my old ladies. FUNNY THAT. I sat and watched the two tablets dancing around in the bottom of the glass. It didn't smell too bad at all.
Sometimes smells can be deceiving. I can smell the tasty flavour! But it is masked by the taste of... I dunno... whatever sweat must taste like. Finished the glass. Good thing I didn't buy one of the "bad" flavours.
