what impression do I give?

Two slightly odd encounters today.

1. There's a man who I often walk past on my way to work in the mornings. He always says hello and looks as though he knows me so I say hello back. Today I went out during work to get some orange dots and this guy was outside the pharmacy when I returned. We were chatting about the book he's reading (this year he's reading Freud and he wonders what Freud would think of the antipsychotic medicine that he's taking - "they didn't use medicines in the 18th century you know. Everyone in my boarding house is on medicine") which was nice. Then he told me that I always look depressed on my way to work in the mornings. Is it that obvious?!

2. Sitting at the bus stop on my way home. I was nibbling at some sushi. The lady next to me was eating a slice of bread. Then she offers me the bread bag and says "take some! Take a few slices!". I say "oh no, it's ok, but thanks!". She insists that I take some bread because she lives alone and can't eat it all. So I take two slices. Then she insists that I take more. So I take another two. Then her bus comes. And I am left holding my sushi and four slices of bread. I don't really have anywhere to put four slices of bread so I sort of eat my way through it between the bus stop and the train station. Then have to eat my sushi. Then arrive home unable to eat dinner due to excessive carb intake!
