Merry Weekend!! Not that it's much of a weekend for me but 4 hours of work a day is better than 13 so I am still pleased. This morning was my 4 hours at Chaos Pharmacy where the unexpected is expected and frequently with good reason. Tomorrow is 4 hours at Dinosaur Pharmacy which I'm sure must have been approached by museums wishing to purchase their printers.

However this morning was very quiet at CP. I spent most of the morning deleting orders (and their corresponding electronic invoices) that are clogging up the ordering program and causing it to run very slowly. Since starting there I've made it through the end of 2002 and all of 2003. Hit January 2004 this morning. In a few more weeks they'll be ready to use electronic invoicing again! They could do it now but the amount of crap slows it down to the point of being useless.

Removing crap is actually a large part of my job description. Both literally and metaphorically. In the metaphorical sense, last night at normal job I removed a printer that has been sitting silently for the last two years, using up valuable dispensary space and gathering dust. There was a minor panic attack when one of my other printers stopped working after I removed the dead one but this was eventually solved by giving the network cable a shove. On the literal front, our pharmacy has been participating ina bowel cancer screening program. This involves selling kits to people who then dunk paddle pop sticks in the toilet for three consecutive days then bring back their envelope with poo sticks in it and place it in a plastic bin provided for the purpose. Usually the people running the screening program come and pick up the bin at the end of the screening period however for some reason they didn't. So the poo bin was sitting in the dispensary disturbing all and sundry for a few weeks. I eventually tracked down the people who told me the program was over so I'd have to mail back the bin. The WHOLE BIN. This is one of those plastic kitchen bins with the swinging top. I eventually negotiated with them to merely send back the contents (triple wrapped in plastic) and FINALLY got rid of them yesterday. The lady in charge told me that we could keep the bin til next year. Thanks!
