I had a very busy day today! It was white coat day! Happily I was successful with the white coat. So then I hopped on a bus to visit my old work. I went into most of the surrounding shops to say hi to people I know. The shoe shop man gave me a pair of fluffy slippers. The security guard at the bank showed me that he's doing a good job because the bank's still there. The lady at the bistro was out but I left a message at the bar for her. The people at my old work were pleased enough to see me. Stayed a while and chatted. Observed all the changes that have occurred since my departure. It was all very nice.
Then I found another bus and went to my current work suburb. I have heard a lot about the chocolate shop and wanted to see that. The first time I walked past I thought it was closed but hurrah it actually wasn't!! I bought a sampler box because I wasn't sure where to start. Mmmmmmmmmm. Yes. I also made the acquaintance of the second hand bookshop lady! We chatted for a while and it turns out that she likes school story books just like I do! She hasn't read any Chalet School so I'm going to lend some to her and she's lending me some other series that I haven't come across yet. I also asked her to keep an eye out for any school stories that come in to the shop.
So yes. I think I have made the most important contacts near my new work. The chocolate people and the book people. And I acquired a pair of fluffy slippers! What more could I want?
