So a few exciting things happened today:
1. Hospital id tags! Now we can wander around all the hospitals in our region, walk into wards/theatres/other hospital type things and say "Hi! I'm a med student, can I watch?" and chances are that people will say yes.
2. We received our hospital allocations. Unfortunately for the wibmeetontap plan, I am not going to Dee's local, however I will be at my local hospital which is very cool. As mentioned below it is a smaller hospital so only 16 students will be there on our day. The hospital also runs mini elective activities like going for ambulance rides and going on pathology rounds to practice being vampires. We will be starting blood collection in three weeks. Coooooool!
3. It seems like all the friends I made on day one will also be at the same hospital as me. Which is really quite strange considering how big the course is and how few people will be at that hospital.
4. We found out a bit more about what we'll be doing over the next four years, met some third year students, had tours of the big regional hospital, free lunch and morning tea (there is a bit of a focus on free food in this course)....
And tomorrow it all begins in earnest!
