I never thought I'd get to use a bunsen burner again but today, whilst culturing swabs of our nostrils to check for staph aureus, there was bunsen action for decontaminating our streaking loop between streaks. Brought back happy memories of high school chemistry and pharmacy chemistry.

In our other lab we examined a skin abscess and a section of an infected appendix under the microscope. And saw two videos each with notable qualities. The first had possibly the grossest video scene I've ever seen... someone squeezing a bronchopneumoniac lung to make pus ooze out. The second had some really cool footage of neutrophils and macrophages phagocytosing (eating) bacteria and neutrophils strolling down veins while red blood cells rushed past.
