No, don't worry, there are not fake YayWiblogs popping up as far as I'm aware. However, SOMEONE has been using my credit card for nefarious purposes!

I happened to log into internet banking last night and saw a transaction for $128.24 from last week that I didn't have any recollection of. It was to a company name that I'd never heard of and the company appeared to be in America. To confirm this, there was also a separate $3.01 currency processing fee. I racked my brains... had I bought anything on ebay? No... had I bought ANYTHING that could possibly be processed in America? No!! Dammit! Someone's using my card!

So I called Visa and they immediately blocked it and gave me the 24 hour lost and stolen cards line for my bank. They were on the whole, very helpful but they also said that getting a refund was up to my bank and I should have called them as soon as the fraudulent activity happened (um hello, does anyone check their credit card transaction record every day?!). Called the bank and was put through to the fraud department who had just received the fax about me from Visa (very fast service if you call at 9pm - hint for young players). They cancelled the card, which is different to blocking the card and organised to send me a new card and forms for claiming back my funds which apparently will be very straightforward as it's such a small amount.

What's sad is that my card expired yesterday and my shiny new red card had arrived and I was very excited because it was pretty. And then I had to cut it up.
