I think it's a record

Would you believe that 2 days and 2 showers later, the little round band aid over my flu vaccine injection site is still there. I am not deliberately keeping it on for any reason. In fact I only just noticed it's still there (it's sort of towards the back of my arm). But this is very odd. Usually such plastic dots fall off within hours. Should I leave it there to see how long it can survive?

So today was maternity and paeds day. Spent the morning in the maternity clinic, feeling stomachs and listening for foetal heart beats. That was fun. Then went to paediatrics after lunch. It's a bit slow there at the moment... only two patients! So I went to the paediatric assessment area in emergency and finally found some sick kids and a paediatrician to follow around. The main job I had was helping to cannulate a one year old. Funnily enough this didn't put me off doing paediatrics (which is currently an option but nowhere near locked in) however I will have to think carefully about dealing with parents before I commit to it. The mother of the one year old was great but a few others were quite frustrating.

In other news I've just discovered that work is only open from 9-6 on Saturday due to it being a public holiday instead of 8:30-8:30. Hurrah!! I wonder if I get paid more? Probably not. Ah well. Doesn't matter.
