shredding for the uninitiated

(Oh and by the way, Hi Jack!! I just saw your little Romania flag in my visitor's department and I thought you deserved a personal hello because you're my first visitor from Romania)

So a while ago, Maddie bought a shredder. And I coveted it because I like shredders. And I said that I couldn't buy one because I couldn't justify it. And Maddie came up with something I had bought which was far sillier than a shredder. I can't remember what it was. But anyway, I have stored that impeccable reasoning in my head all that time. And last week I bought a shredder. It's a cross cut one (5x4mm strips) and it's black and sleek and quite stylish. But I have a question. The shreds, being cross cut, don't hold together like those from a conventional, low security shredder. And I want to recycle them. But I have an enormous 240L paper recycling bin which is upended by the recycling truck. And if the cross cut bits are not secured, there will be a confetti parade every second Tuesday on paper recycling day. If it were my regular bin I would use a plastic bag however plastic bags are not permitted in the paper bin.

Current ideas for putting shreds in are: cereal boxes and paper bags (but they come from pharmacies and newsagents and are only really good for holding a box of medicine or a greeting card). Any better ideas.

Oh yes, in other news, while I was composing this post and decided to use HTML to make my link to maddie's wiblog, I found a way to allay my non-editability anxiety. This page lets you paste in your html and it tells you what you've just coded. I'm sure there are many other such pages but it was at the top of google.

Incidentally, did you know that I am in the top 10 google hits for strawberry shortcake lab coat? Cool huh?
