There is an enormous cockroach on my wall, up near the ceiling (which is rather high due to it being at the higher end of the slopey ceiling. Probably about 3.5-4 metres up). This is a problem.
If I do nothing, chances are that it will scurry around as soon as I turn off the light and likely fall off right at the point above my head. This is NOT a pleasant way to be wakened.
It's too high to spray. If I try this it will get a tiny dose. Enough to send it crazy (and hence more likely to fall off the ceiling onto my face). Not enough to kill it.
I could throw something at it. But this would require extreme skill (problem one) and it would probably make a bit of a racket (problem two).
I could coax it down, lull it into a false sense of security, then eliminate it (or possibly put it in my cockroach catching device for safe keeping til tomorrow). But this seems a bit difficult. How does one coax a cockroach? The most failsafe way seems to be by turning off the light and falling asleep.
Deary me. What a quandary.
