procrastinating

So I did end up vacuuming yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't get round to doing anything with the piles of stuff (they are now back on the (clean) floor). And I also haven't got around to taking the vacuum cleaner back to the laundry cupboard.

I ended up being quite busy yesterday. I had a bit of a logistical drama because I needed to be at work an hour after I finished uni. And I wanted a car at work, but can't drive to uni due to lack of parking and stuff. So I went to work first and left the car, then borrowed the enormous umbrella that I found in the bathroom at work, caught bus/train combo to uni, faffed around in my tutorial, caught bus/bus combo back to work. This was more efficient (less doubling back) but probably no net time saving. Then after work I met a couple of friends at the movies and we saw Shrek 3 (what is the world coming to when cartoons have 9:30pm sessions?) which had adequate amounts of hilarity for my needs.

As others have mentioned, the weather in NSW is rather disgusting. I know that we like to whinge when it doesn't rain, then we whinge when it does rain, however rain that kills people, destroys roads and floods towns and stuff, creates a lot of mess to clear up. My cousin spent quite a few hours stuck on a train going up the coast last night because of a landslide onto the train line. I shudder to think of the possibilities had she been driving. I did quite a lot of driving yesterday but had no dramas. Was still amazed at how stupid some drivers are... driving like a lunatic on a fine day is lunacy enough, but driving like a lunatic in poor visibility, on slippery roads (with markings not visible), with high winds and other drivers simply not accustomed to driving in the rain, is just plain STUPID.

Erm yes. So I am procrastinating.
