an adventure

Had lunch with a friend on Sunday. Decided to go somewhere new.

So after consulting my favourite Sydney food blog, I decided on Cafe Mado in Auburn.

My review - excellent food, good value (two entrees and two mains for under $40 - more than two people could eat), lots of interesting things on the walls and in cabinets to look at... worth a visit. Unfortunately we were too full for an ice cream course, but I suspect we'll be back for that another day.

After lunch we wandered around and came across a wonderful Turkish baklava/other tasty sweet things shop that had no names or prices on anything and loads of stuff. We pondered how to order for a minute, then a couple came in and said "$10 please!" and the owner made a selection of baklava by weight ($14/kg - much cheaper than buying it by the piece) - simple! The owner was lovely and most apologetic about not having labels on any of the things, but I assured her that I much prefer just buying "$5 worth please". Hmmm now I should go and find out what it was called so that you can all go there and I can remember it in later years.

Ah yes...
