The gate guy says that our gates should be done in two weeks. That means that I can go and get me a dog in two weeks and a bit! How exciting!
My conversations with people about my dog seem to go like this:
"What sort of dog are you getting?"
"Well, it'll be about this big (Hand gestures) and it won't be yappy and I don't know what sort of coat it'll have but hopefully a fairly low shedding sort..."
"What breed will it be?"
"Dunno. I'm getting a second hand one... from the RSPCA"
"Ah... what about a poodle?"
"No. There will be no poodles. Unless they're crossed with a great dane or something"
"Oh..."
"I don't want a small yappy dog. And I need it to be able to beat up stupid dog next door" (figuratively speaking. My dog will be a gentleman/lady and will not be indulging in senseless violence on poor dumb creatures like the dog next door)
"Hmmmm"
"My book says I need to get two dogs. A large one and a small one. But that may require an extra degree of parental consent"
"Oh... right..."
My brother's girlfriend's mother gave me my book. Well she gave it to the brother and I as a shared birthday present (his birthday was last week, mine is next week). She was so excited to hear about me getting a dog that she dragged her daughter (the brother's girlfriend) out to the RSPCA last week to look at puppies. Hehe.
Just think! Me! With a dog!
