1. Buying a single disposable face mask will NOT protect you against swine flu, bird flu, otter flu or gerbil flu. Or any other flu. If you have the flu and wear a mask, you may prevent other people from catching your plague.

2. Asking the same pharmacy repeatedly for face masks will not help you to acquire face masks if the pharmacy does not have any. We definitely have a huge secret storeroom that is overflowing with masks, but don't like you so no mask for you.

3. Yes I know you saw footage of people wearing masks last night on tv, but that doesn't mean you need a mask. The World Health Organisation says "If you are not sick you do not have to wear a mask" on their page about protecting yourself from the flu. I would trust them over A Current Affair.
