"not while we're eating!"

So I'm sitting in front of the tv. I'm eating toast with strawberry jam and watching a show about the glory days of the frontal lobotomy, gory details and all.

This isn't a problem for my eating enjoyment. Seeing gross things doesn't interfere with my appetite. I am quite happy talking about colonoscopies, technicolour vomit and my aversion to sputum while I'm eating.

While sputum disgusts me, the disgust doesn't put me off my food. I can be grossed out in general by green sputum while continuing to eat my pea soup. Discussing colonoscopies while eating sausages is not a problem.

So does anyone actually have physical troubles with thinking/talking about gross things while eating? Do you find your omelet turning into the results of a night on the town? Do oysters become freshly harvested snot (to be honest I can't tell the difference anyway)? Does your spaghetti suddenly writhe like a roundworm infestation? And don't get me started on the bolognaise...

And do these foodal transformations stop you eating? Do these topics REALLY put you off your food?
