Merry Monday everyone,
Stickin' it to the man doesn't mean that people shouldn't post comments. In fact it means quite the opposite! I don't quite know how, but it must.
I have been busy at work in the rural outpost making sweeping changes while the boss is away. They're all good changes! I was thinking about rearranging the dispensary so that the drugs were in order of tablet colour, but I didn't. I just spread things out more so less things have to get thrown up to the very high shelves for storage... the people who dispense are pleased. Well they say they are anyway. It certainly looks much prettier and I don't knock as many things off the shelves.
I lined up all the boxes on Panadol Osteo (about 80 of them) in the dispensary so that they all face the same way.
And I installed open office to get around a computer issue. My boss was having trouble printing a document that has nine text boxes with fairly precise spacing and zero margins (prints on sheets with "specials" in red). He reckoned the problem was with the margins. But really had no idea. He told me to fix it. I eventually diagnosed it as his version of office being SO OLD that the text boxes just weren't compatible with anything. Just quietly, the new Open Office rocks - it is so much better than the old one and really very user friendly.
Anyway, it works a treat.
I have also set up the drop safe (safe under the front counter with a posting hole for putting excess cash in) that has been in position for a year and no-one has set the codes. It now has codes and is functional. I am also instructing the juniors on the purpose and use of a drop safe.
And I installed Firefox because I like it.
Oh and I made a new version of the roster sheet. The old one looks like it is photocopies of photocopies of photocopies from 1972. And the big bonus is that the new one has room for my name so I'll get paid. Hurrah!
AND I made a warfarin chart so that people taking warfarin can document their INR and warfarin dose. Because they always come in and ask for them and we don't have any.
I also identified that the computer says we have 6 boxes of Micardis 40mg whereas we actually don't have any and hence we have to order some and adjust the stock numbers on the computer.
I apparently still have to reset the printer defaults on the master computer - this bit is on the list of things my boss wanted me to do (along with fixing the document problem). I am not sure which of the four printers he wants the defaults reset for...
The End.
