Holiday Pressures and Perks

This morning my mother asked my two questions which I was unable to answer: 1) Which shops that aren't in major shopping complexes sell minidiscs? 2) How do you make curried pea and ham soup? Having thoroughly confused me (I don't answer questions before I've eaten breakfast) she stood there and waited for an answer. Meanwhile I chewed on my toast, my mind quite blank and forgot the original questions. In the end she gave up and made me run in to the local enormous shopping centre (largest in the Southern Hemisphere, or so I'm told) while she drove round the block rather than looking for a parking spot. And I think she's decided to make uncurried soup... which obviously makes a difference.

I think I find holidays more tiring than uni ever was. People think that you want them to fill your time up. I'm really quite happy finding things to do myself. Really!

Although I do get to play with an ibook for the week thanks to the timefill assumption. It's very pretty, not TOO hard to use (although switching between the ibook and this lovely normal computer is like speaking two different languages... well what I imagine speaking two languages to be like) and my friendly microsoft two button optical wheel mouse works with it. Imagine having no right click! Craziness.
