Apparently item 15 on the agenda at the vestry meeting is when you elect the new parish council (having established in item 14 that there shall indeed be a parish council; that it shall be composed of six members plus two elected by the rector; that the rights, powers and duties of a Church Committee shall vest in the Parish Council and that the Parish Council may fill any vacancy that may occur) and the parish nominators. When we got to item 18 "Exercise any other function which may be authorised by any ordinance" the minister said "does anyone know what that means? No? Right then, we'll move on to item 19 - Close meeting".

I took my kilo of artificially coloured and flavoured jelly snakes to the vestry meeting and this turned out to be a good move, with those around me most appreciative. I'm thinking of obtaining some sort of popcorn cart next year. With all proceeds going towards debt reduction or air conditioning.

Hmmm do you think I should alert anyone to the fact that that nominations for parish council are still open despite voting having been carried out?
