The apple and custard scroll. The infrastructure is bun, about 5cm tall and in a 10cm diameter spiral (it is quite a formidable bakery product for the feeble appetited). The inside surfaces of the scroll are covered in custard and there is a generous layer of apple in this cavity also.
On top of the bun is white icing. I believe I ranted about finger bun icing much earlier in the life of this wiblog. Just like a finger bun, an apple and custard scroll requires soft icing. On top of the icing is a liberal sprinkling of coconut. Hence do not eat these while standing over the fax machine. Fax machines do not like coconut (Lamington lesson #254).
