Today I spent the entire day in the company of pharmacists. I caught the train to the city with my mum (who is a pharmacist), spent the hours between 9 and 3:30 at a conference for pharmacists, caught the train part of the way back with my mum, got off the train (by myself) and had a group meeting with three pharmacists for our junk arthritis promotion on Thursday.
However the conference was sponsored by a drug company. This means they try to buy your love! So in the bag waiting on my chair I found:
A pencil tin
A cool fold up frisbee
A toothbrush (Colgate no less)
A sticker
A bookmark
A mousemat and two things that look like mini mouse mats... coasters?
A pump pack of moisturiser
A large container of moist wipes
The obligatory pen
I was also given a snazzy leather folio with another pen and a pad of paper in it. And a tasty lunch. And a pot of Mentos on my table. That was replenished at every tea break.
So have I been swayed to buy their products? Well, not really as their products are all prescription only medicines and that's not really up to me. But I do have a cool frisbee!! I also managed to get a bag for my brother. He was very excited. He has been a fan of medical merchandise since I brought him home a really snazzy glass Viagra coaster.
