Now I know what it's like to be a cat

I have done very little in the last 24 hours other than sleeping or eating. Thankfully I don't have one of those diseases they get in books where they lose their appetite. No no, there'll be none of that. I decided that my throat felt bacterial so brought home some amoxycillin tablets from work (the newer 1000mg ones that you can take twice daily instead of four times daily!). I think that my suspicion is right. Because I felt better, then I stopped taking them then I felt worse then I started taking them again and now I feel better. It can be a trial being a curious sort. Delays healing.

It's odd though, I did my honours thesis on compliance (ie. whether people are taking their medicines as prescribed or not). At the time I couldn't work out how so many people could be noncompliant. However I think I now understand. For a start I am taking unprescribed antibiotics. I also am having a lot of trouble keeping track of how many paracetamol (acetaminophen) tablets I am taking per day (I can't remember whether I took two when I woke up at 2 this morning...) - have I been sticking to the maximum of 8 per day rule? I have no idea! And I've doubled the dose of another prescribed medication without consulting a doctor. I am a case study in noncompliance! Maybe if I write about my experiences they will give me a PhD...
