a pleasing new gadget

Yesterday I went back to the dentist again for a plaque removal session. Both him and his nurse were impressed at how little plaque there was to remove. I explained that I have recently taken up flossing. To reward my perseverance they gave me a Reach Access flosser. It's like a toothbruss but with little disposable floss holders that you put on the end. I am trying it out right now and am very happy with it. Makes my molars much more accessible.

The dentist also told me about the new gadget that he's waiting for. It's a machine that gets rid of tooth decay without drilling or needles or anything hurty. It uses ozone and a remineralisation solution. AND it costs less than conventional fillings. I wondered whether I was dreaming (and decided that if I was dreaming I should call the patent office as soon as I woke up) but he assured me that it was true and showed me the brochure. So I'm on the list of people to try out the new machine when the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Authority) approves it for use in Australia. It's apparently already available in most of the rest of the world... go on everyone! Try it out and let me know!
