Hullo. I've not got much to say. Just checking in really.

I've started working on Fridays as a cleaner. It's a step back to work and it seems to be working out okay for now. My mood remains unpredictable but I think I'm still much better. If I run.

My wife ran in the Women's 10k to my great admiration and her own astonishment. Her medal is now up on the wall where Running Made Easy says it'll inspire her to keep going.

I'm rather more troubled by the #twitterjoketrial than by our continued lack of anything approaching a government. There is a beautiful post here by Graham Linehan which sums it up very well: http://whythatsdelightful.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/prague-1965/ It's that kind of astonishing bullshit that made me drop Facebook. Anyway if you want to help with the appeal, the fund is here: http://cripesonfriday.tumblr.com/post/587845442/twitter-joke-trial-fund

What else. I hate smalltalk. Every time I choke out a little polite chat with other parents, it's like something is taking bites out of me. It's also mostly unnecessary. I've thought for a long time that there must be some way of guiding the conversation onto something that actually interests everybody concerned, but I hereby give up on that idea. From now on I'm just going to talk to everybody as if they give a shit about what I think - because if they don't, they should. I'll not be on earth forever and god knows people need to hear my teachings.

Oh, we learned hooping. Learned to hoop. In the park. With friend Emilie, who teaches it properly as a proper teacher. I thought I couldn't do it but apparently I could, probably because E's home-made hoops are bigger and heavier than the ones we'd have had as kids. She's been commissioned to manufacture some for us, with maximum sparkles.

Oh and I've been playing Munchkin with Rosie which is great fun. Highly recommended.

That's all for now I think. I might come back in later and whine. Might not. You never can tell with me.
