I knew a guy who went to see Brokeback Mountain with his girlfriend, thinking "hey, a cowboy movie!"
That would be enough reason to venerate Heath Ledger's name for all time, imho. The look on this bloke's face when he came out of the cinema was completely fabulous.
Heath Ledger was a genuinely talented and apparently very likeable guy. He was the same age when his daughter was born as I was when mine was born. And he's dead, dead, dead, and it's not fair, at all, and I was amazed when I saw his parents (and sister?) give a dignified and thoughtful statement to the press, literally hours after the news broke. I'd be on major autopilot by now (I'm not suggesting they are unaffected, but that's some self-control, to be able to stand up and make sense in a situation like that).
Anyway. I guess we never know when it's coming.
