Found this peculiarly unsatisfying in the end. Not sure why. The satire is so far-reaching as to conjure up an entire world, and that might be what left me feeling a bit lost. But the characters are as clear and real as ever. Barnes is a genius. This may not be quite his greatest work (for some reason I feel like he's better with real life) but the sex scenes are positively poetic. :-)
