This is my entry for Josie George's Writing Workshop. Really, if you want to have a look at what this kind of work can really do, you should go and see Josie's entry here.

I believe: FUNNY

Now obviously I've mostly nicked this idea from Josie and I should be ashamed of myself. Don't worry, that's a given. However, while I might have been mostly excited by pretending to be a proper artist, I was at least driven to try to find something I really believed concisely enough to frame it over a photo.

And this is it. And I'm only half kidding. I've been through some serious shit in my life and laughter has often been all that I've had left. All of the funniest people I know have been through genuinely horrifying experiences. I don't suggest one can't be funny without knowing sadness - but it's vital to remember that laughter is a SURVIVAL mechanism, not just an escape. It is wisdom bubbling up from the heart of our darkest moment, irrepressible and bursting forth.

What it certainly is NOT - ask any actor - is EASY.
