Yesterday via the recommendation of a dear friend I found the flylady. She has "the program" for getting out of chaos. I quote, "...this can work for you. You can easily adapt FlyLady's system to fit your own lifestyle. You will find that with time, your house and life will pull together." She sends 15 reminder emails a day. And the number one everyday task - polish the sink. I declined to implement that part of the program, but I was thinking about using her flyzone of the week. Spend 15 minutes a day decluttering the bedroom.
Then I was reading Intimate Issues which is a great book, complete with a chapter entitled "Are quickies O.K. with God?" The author was describing "some people's" bedrooms -- and she was describing mine. Two different people telling me to clean up the bedroom. This must be more than a coincidence. It must be a message from God! LOL So I went off to declutter and decorate the bedroom. The author's own decorating including stapling white lattice to the walls into which she wove silk flowers. I bought some beaded wire in shiney mother of pearl purple to string around somewhere or other. I haven't decided yet. At the moment it's cluttering up the chest of drawers.
And just in case you're wondering, quickies are O.K. with God. :-)
