Advent candles for those who were a bit slow in starting.

I must be entirely honest with you, and I feel I would lack integrity if I did not share this with you. Today, I listened to Hillsong (No songs to sing). From 1993! "People Just Like Us." Never say never.

More advent dilemas today. General feelings of uneasiness surround the entire little ceremony which I've shortened each day as the tension grows. Maybe I'm dragging up Painful Anglican Memories.

The advent candle thing is important to me because it sets aside a little time at the same time each day to pause and reflect on God's grace and goodness and love in having a plan to restore my and all humanity's relationship with him. I like having something to do, and something symbolic to look at. I like having a little structure to follow, that gives some guidance on where to direct my thoughts. I enjoy the freedom to have my own words when I am able. When I have no words I would like to have someone else's to say.

We lit the hope candle. Lord we wait for you. We lit the peace candle. Lord give us space to sit and remember the gift you sent us.

God bless.
