God entered the world in human form, a little baby on the journey through life and death.
My Advent Candles
A new thing for me. I'd never heard of advent candles until this year. So for those who likewise have not heard of them, this is their meaning for me.
The first candle, lit four Sundays befor Christmas. The hope candle, for all those people throughout history who waited for God to come
The second candle, lit three Sundays before Christmas. The peace candle. Peace that comes from God, peace right in the middle of turmoil, so we think "How can this peace be?" It is a gift from God, and is beyond our understanding.
The third candle, lit two Sundays before Christmas. The love candle. Love so amazing, God held us and rocked us, as we waited to see his plan. He loved us so much he gave us his son, to reveal what could not previously be seen by physical eyes: the image and nature of God.
The fourth candle lit one Sunday before Christmas. The joy candle. Soon Jesus will come.
The white candle Lit at dinner time, Christmas eve. The Christ candle. The gift has arrived. The baby Jesus, a gift given to the whole world in such a normal natural way.
A circle of evergreen going on and on for eternity, for God was, and is, and is to come forever. The Christ candle stands in the middle, because he stands in the middle of the universe and all time, from him all else radiates.
A gold thread woven through all eternity, and wrapped around the Christ candle, who lived with Holy Spirit within him, and was guided by him.
