All day church

Church again, two weeks in a row. This is a change of pattern for me. Songs were still atrocious. I really feel like I'm at school rehearsing for a musical. Still trying to be philosophical about it: the whole team working together is giving something to the community and to God, if I read the words some of the songs had meaningful words, it's great to see a range of ages were working together, etc.
A teenage couple walked out to the kitchen half way through. I had a little struggle in my seat; should I walk out of church? Aside from asking, "Do you want me to Jesus?" I wondered what was more important, the church service, or the people who had walked out of the church service. So I went to meet them. I didn't follow the young mum whom, towards the end, went to the park next door. I think I should have.
A little harder this week to go and enthusiastically introduce myself to all the people who were staring at me. I met Kick and Shine and Barry and Harley and Joy.

Real church began when I talked about planning a neighbourhood BBQ with Peace, went to the bakery for lunch with some lovely people, chatted to the fruit shop owner about his farm, met Peace chatting to her neighbour, and consequently met the neighbour and her children. I'll call her Pretty. She's on the BBQ invite list. (Do you like all these names Dee?) Then invited the neighbours in, instead of chatting through the fence as usual.

My mind flashed to the state of the house before I asked. Although not perfect, it really is about 1000 times better than it would have been 6 months ago. Ahh, the joy, the bliss, to calmly and spontaneously invite people over without stress or embarrassment. I have learnt a lot in my 6 months of nothingness. Praise God. So very practical, so unspiritual, unless you go by the theory that what is happening in the physical is a reflection of what is happening in the spiritual, but that's another entry,
