I'm off to a get-together thingy. Next Wednesday. I'll call it 'a gathering'. 'Conference' just doesn't work for me. I like gathering with others to get to know them, and to learn through hearing their stories. Liquid is a fresh approach to mission in Australia that bridges the three interconnected streams of Christian mission: Engaging culture & community, Spiritual formation & discipleship, Compassionate living & social justice. I'm not involved in anything cutting edge and trendy, so I hope I'm not out of place. But I do live in a little community that I am trying to make an integral part of my life, and I an integral part of it.
I've been working at this for the last 2 years. I think it might be time to start again, and this time, take some other Christ following people with me on the journey, to immerse (going with the liquid theme;-) ourselves in the lives of those in our community. Maybe one day, we'll find we've become 'a team.' And how cool would that be.
