Gotta love it!

Today I saw a man at the supermarket in a too tight camouflage t-shirt over a nice beer gut, daughter in tow. I was thinking how unattractive he was, and then I just wanted to grab him and hug him, because he is so important. He is a special person. He is a great man. God loves him. Amazing experience. Gotta love it.

Church in the morning, I hope it's full of rituals and ceremonies and candles and darkness and quiet, led by people who've thought about how to make this a meaningful, reflective occasion.

Then, I'm off camping! Yay! I love camping! I lovehearing birds as I lie in a tent. I love waking up with the sun (when I'm camping that is). I hope I sleep from dusk to dawn for the next three nights. I'm leaving the laptop at home.

Church last week was great by the way. Despite the fact that my idea to get a team together to door knock and offer to cut off agapanthus heads (they're a weed, and now's about the time they seed all over the bush) was not really understood, nor given enough air time. I think it would be great to get together with a group of people to make a small but important contribution to our area, to the environment, to show we care, put our money where our mouth is, _do something_. And I think it would be a real community building experience to work with others, chatting about who knows what, probably life stories and journeys, as our hands were busy cutting off flower heads. JUST DO SOMETHING! Folks, got a dream? Just GET OUT THERE and do it!

Anyway, church was really casual, kids were running in and out, people were smiling, they had some responsive reading thing acknowledging all different feelings, everyone laughs at the mistakes, we sat in groups, and all stood in a circle for communion, and the kids all grab bread and wine and stand in the circle as well. I love that.
