Merry Christmas everyone.

We've seen Santa go past in the Country Fire Authority firetruck, shouting Merry Christmas and throwing out bags of lollies.

We've BBQed with the neighbours and lit the Christ candle of the advent candles. The little girl next door couldn't wait, and she remembered what all the candles stand for (love, hope, peace, joy, Christ) after I explained it to her four weeks ago.

We've been to Matins - my first ever. I've no idea what Matins is. There was lots of psalms read, maybe 9. There was lots of story telling, from the bible and in chants and songs, and lots of greeting and being happy and people coming and going throughout the services.

We've opened presents around the Christmas tree this morning and had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Now it's off to the family for roast lunch, then more family for dinner, and more family still tomorrow lunch.

Then it's off on holidays. I was trying to go camping down the peninsula Jame's way, but not a single site to be had. Hope to be by a beach somewhere for a week.

Have a great Christmas everyone as you celebrate Christ's birth.
