Happy New Year.
For new years I went to a BBQ and ate sausages while standing in a child's paddling pool.
It was hot. I drank nothing but water, and lots of it, and still my head was spinning, it was so hot. It was like the sun didn't even go down. 43 C! Not as hot as Sydney's 45 C, but pretty darn hot all the same.
I don't really get new years. What are we celebrating? What is the meaning of staying up late, drinking, shouting, blowing toy trumpets and watching fire works? Why do we need to see in the new year?
All the same, here's my little reflection. Goal setting comes later.
Compared to the drama of two years ago, by which I mean three years ago, as in 2003. This is getting confusing..
2003 the year of drama
2004 the year of the fresh excitment
2005 the year of ... you know, I guess I could say 'order'. Well there you go! Order of all things. Went to bed at 10pm, got up at 7am (that is very big news for me), ate breakfast everyday, sat down to eat meals, lit the 'God' candle every night, cooked dinner almost every night, planned ahead and planned less, and started attending an Orthodox church - now that's ordered.
God bless.
