Leek update/communion tales

Down to 26 leeks. I'm glad I shoved all those left over leeks in one hole in the ground. It seems there is strength in numbers even for plants. Those planted in one hole have all survived.

In the Orthodox church as we line up to take communion from the priest (who represents Jesus) the choir sings a song, over and over, "Receive the body of Christ, taste the fountain of immortality." The only problem is that when the choir are drinking wine and eating bread, they can't sing. And they are big chunks of bread that need to be eaten, none of the tiny little squares of sandwich bread, or broken crumbs of unleavened bread I've been used to. Last week I sang as the choir was eating their bread. And the guy across the aisle sang as well. So knowing I was not alone, I sang a bit louder, and I think he sang a bit louder too. Then one of the guys in the choir finished his mouthful and boomed out the song, making us pale into insiginificance. But that's not the point. I'm terrified of singing in public, but when there was a need, and when there was someone else to help, I did it! I'm so excited.

I had no singing companion this week, and there was one more in the choir, so I left it to them.
