Advent fast

The good thing about fasting from meat, dairy and eggs for advent is that everytime I go to eat, I am reminded that advent is near. It takes very little effort from me to eat. It's something I do several times a day.

I should really call it my experiment in fasting. For several days not knowing what to cook, I ate fish and chips. (The advent fast allows fish for a few weeks.) Somedays just chips. Then when I noticed I was absolutely exhausted everyday, I decided to eat meat again. I feel so much better. Next year I'll take some vitamins and minerals when fasting. Why does no one talk about this? Last year I asked people if they got tired when they were fasting. No one did.

So I've been eating vegan several times a week, hoping my body would get used to it, ready for the fast. Maybe I should have been eating heaps of meat, building up my stores of iron and whatever else.

Oh well. Take 3. I'll try again next year.

I have been steering away from 'treat food' instead of meat. Biccies, Coke, lollies etc. I'm hanging out for some fabulous rich dessert. Christmas really will feel like a feast. Bring on the trifle.
