Palm Sunday

Today in church we each held a candle throughout the service. Everyone had a little posy of flowers (I was going to say bunch, but posy really is the right word here) to wave as part of the story of Jesus' entry to Jeruselum. The kids had palm branches. Candle in one hand, palm branches in the other. Interesting... Only saw one child trying to light palms. I think they were fascinated by the way it _didn't_ burn as they waved their candle underneath. Only they do burn eventually. Only one child with that burning hair smell. All church services should have kids holding candles, it keeps them entertained for hours. I did see the priests wife head off to the kitchen and come back with a fire extinguisher, just in case. Then we walked around the church with our flowers and candles singing a palm Sunday song.

Easter Thursday peoples, find an orthodox church (that uses English throughout) and go on Easter Thursday night. It's the most amazing service. Give it a try.
