For all the great joys of having two children, there is a price to pay.
When two people have one child, you divide the labour and so you can each give half your time to the child and have half left over.
When two people have two children, you each give half your time to one child and half to the other, leaving none left over.
On the strength of 3 weeks experience, I say having two children is uncannily like being Gulliver in Lilliput, waking up one morning to find yourself pinned to the ground by little people.
