As the one person who placed a bet on how long it would be before Genius Brat lost his pencil case and entire contents, you predicted that he would do so in 5.5 days. I win - he took 5.5 weeks. But now everything is gone (including his expensive calculator) and I have had to fill a Power Rangers pencil case, which he hates, with all the spare stuff I was keeping in reserve.
He assures me he will look for the old one, but judging by his (lack of) success so far in finding the two coats and one hoodie that he has mislaid this term so far, I'm not holding my breath.
The Grouch assures me that this is why we get Disability Living Allowance, to cover our additional expenses in relation to GB's greater likelihood than other children to lose things. I guess a couple of hundred a month does indeed cover that pretty adequately. But then you also have to factor in the time I spend buying new stuff, some of which he then rejects because a) it is not his style or b) it looks too young or c) it scratches (that's clothes, obviously, although I guess some of the same stuff could be said of pens..)
