...was one of the delicacies on offer at the 'Not a Halloween party' party last night, in the newly cleared garage of the London Mennonite Centre. Recipe:

Take one ready made flan base.
Fill with drained tinned lychees.
Fill each lychee with something red (probably jam)
Cover the lot with whatever that clear jellyish stuff is that you cover flans with.

Deliciously slimy it was too.

Other offerings included chocolate mousse graveyard:

Fill large baking tray with mousse.
Cover with dark chocolate 'crumbs' to look like earth.
Create a full moon with white chocolate crumbs.
Arrange jelly babies as 'corpses' round edge.

Best costumes were Elvis and a gorilla, and the lady who dressed all in black and pinned cut-out shiny card numbers of various sizes all over herself. We had to guess what she was - I suggested the Book of Numbers, other tries included 'sum body', but the answer turned out to be 'someone you can count on' :-) My Goth make-up was surprisingly successful, especially the eyeliner and the black eyebrows to match the long black wig.

There was apple bobbing, doughnuts hung on string which you had to eat without using hands, charades, dancing to 'The Time Warp' and 'Monster Mash', and two short films which we missed through having to get son to bed. All good clean (and occasionally slimy) Christian fun.
