The last time?

This week has been largely dominated by the need to write my sermon for next Sunday, which I will be delivering at the same church whose Depression Alliance group I spoke to some months ago. This means an 80 mile round trip which I am not looking forward to at all (though I only got lost twice last time...)

The sermon is kind of written but is rather boring and too long so I need to do some more work on it - which I refuse to do today, on my official day off, which means I will have to do it tomorrow, something I regard with even less pleasure. Oh well, I'm getting my hair colour re-done this afternoon so at least that will give me a bit of confidence (nothing like a new hair colour for confidence, unless it's a new outfit or a new pair of boots).

Long term readers may recall (if I ever told you) that after my very nervous-making worship session at Greenbelt, I resolved that I would never speak in public again. That was the moment when I was invited to give four sermons and a talk in the following two months! I don't think I'm going to make such a rash statement this time. But really, I don't like doing this sort of thing and I want to do less of it. I'm just hoping it isn't part of God's call to me! (Preaching to my own church is fine cos I know everybody already loves me and they won't mind if I falter or talk rubbish).
