Our last morning was a leisurely one as we didn't have to leave for the airport till 1pm.
We packed, throwing away any toiletries we could do without so the cases wouldn't go over weight.
After checking out of the Park Royal hotel and leaving our carry on bags with the concierge, we headed first for the Chinese Gardens, not far from the hotel.
What a beautiful delight these gardens are!
The structures, pagodas, flowers, koi carp are all packed into a small area in such a charming way. As we were early there weren't many other visitors, just missing a school party who were entering as we were leaving.
You can almost forget that you are in a city. The buildings that surround the gardens and the traffic noise prevent you doing that though.
Chinatown was next where I bought some well priced goodies for my colleagues at work to enjoy.
Then Paddy's market where I bought some Ugg protection spray at half the price at the Ugg shop.
Was pleased with my bargain, but the spray was confiscated at the airport as it was over the allowed size of liquid. I should have put it in my case, but had forgotten I'd bought it!
Looking for somewhere to have brunch we discovered the Cheers bar on George street.
I had an O J ,eggs on toast and a weak long black, which was delicious, and was the coffee order I should have been giving from the start. Better late than never!
While eating it began to rain, and not just lightly. Very heavy rain deluged for about 20 minutes.
We began to wonder if we would make it back to the hotel without getting wet.
Thankfully we did before the next shower arrived.
