So another free day today, which of course we filled with activity.
First to the Royal Botanic Gardens which we strolled around admiring the many species of trees and flowers.
In places the scents were heady.
The fruit bats are a pest here, damaging the trees where they roost.
Bats aren't the only things we spotted in the trees...
Some trees were in bloom...
We walked down to the barracks which is a very interesting museum about the convicts who were housed here.
Especially interesting to me were the stories of the Irish orphan girls who lived here. A lot of Marys and Bridgets among their number.
We walked back to the harbour for a shipmeet with 3 shipmates and one partner, plus Alan. We actually met Lothlorien on the way down!
We had lunch at the Meat and Wine Co and had a really good conversation or two!
So good to meet them all, will post more on ship-of-fools.com when I get home.
Alan went back to the hotel for a rest and I continued to the Sydney Aquarium. Was spectacular!
Little penguins swimming.
Shark!
Found Nemo!
Back at the hotel now preparing for our last night meal for the whole group on a ship restaurant moored in the harbour.
