Leaving Queensland was hard to do.
We packed up and when we waited in the hotel lobby I skyped Erin who was in bed the night before. It was good to touch base.
A quick journey to the airport, and a chance to shop while we waited for the flight.
I got some concealer, not Touche Éclat sadly and a magnet of Palm cove to put on my locker at work to remind me that I've been somewhere so idyllic.
I almost bought some black Ugg boots but they didn't have my size. It seems men and women have different shoe size scales here. I shall have to search some out here in Sydney .
Beautiful views of the rainforest and coast as we took off.
The flight was a good and comfortable one. I watched the film which was an abbreviated and edited version of My Week With Marilyn . Enjoyed it,especially Judi Dench as a sympathetic Sybil Thorndike.
Sydney is about 10 degrees cooler than Palm Cove and half as humid.
Our bus driver speaks just like Jason Donovan, it's uncanny. Doesn't look like him ,sadly.
Hotel is comfortable but we have to use the dreaded lifts again. I would love to do some stairs!
We headed out to a buzzing Darling Harbour and had an Italian meal. I was wilting at this point.
It was interesting watching all the young girls in their finery and precarious platform shoes. Who knew they were back in fashion?
Then we stayed for a firework display . It was good to watch fireworks and not freeze!
As we walked back Alan spotted a fruit bat flying around. Eeeek, they are enormous!
