To Kuranda today on the Scenic Railway.

Small but the guide was very informative and showed us how they harvest the eggs from the leaves and basically provide a butterfly nursery.

20120322-171639.jpg We had an hour more in Kuranda than the others as we didn't go down on the skyrail. So I did quite a bit of jewellery shopping, at very reasonable prices. We went down another long and winding road to rejoin the group at the Tjapukai aboriginal cultural park. What an amazing experience! First we were treated to didgeridoo demonstration , a beautiful sound and a very difficult technique. Then a drama about the aboriginal creation story. Wonderful special effects. Then outside to a demonstration of how seeds and fruits are used for fruit, medicine and painting. After that a boomerang demonstration and some of us had a go.

Nestea mango is delicious . Pity it's a Nestles' product. Another shower and hair wash. Don't mention the hair! Tonight I'm off to the Cairns Night Zoo with the group. Alan's not going. Whahey!
