bar brawl?

Early to rise, early to work... my walk to the office this morning was extremely interesting and before I start work I just have to share with you the sights that I saw on the way!

Firstly a number of buses passed me as I walked down the main road, this is usual, what was unusual was that they were all empty and every one of them had 'Sorry Not in Service' displayed. Very odd. I started wondering if they had to drive the buses around for a bit to warm them up before they started picking up people. And I was glad that I was walking to work and not standing, in vain, at the bus stop like the old lady that I passed.

The next thing I passed was a man with a shower head on a long pole connected to a hosepipe. At first I wondered if he was preparing to shower a visiting gaint (they're such a common sight in our city!), but then I noticed that he was infact showering the plants; very considerate, I thought...

But he was being outdone by the next man I passed who had taken it upon himself to polish the pavenment. Plants I can understand, they may not talk but at least they're living. Concrete slabs, on the otherhand, are not. I didn't have the heart to tell him, he'd obviously gone to a lot of trouble, he'd even built a special machine to ride on with two polishing brushes!

But Sight of the Day had to be the rubbish bags waiting for collection outside the houses and offices that I passed. I passed two pine chairs that had been smashed in half and lost some of their legs and half of their seats just like you'd see in a western bar brawl on TV. They must have been hit against something pretty hard to end up in the state they were. However what was most funny/worrying (delete as appropriate) was that the chairs were outside the Relate counselling centre!
