Greeting one and all - I'm back now after an extended break. Hope you all had a nice one.

Highlights of my Christmas included the Christmas Day service sermon which was illustated by use of fuzzy felt, receiving a little gift that will allow me to join the txtng masses and prevent me from getting lost and lonely at Greenbelt again (does anyone want my number?), finding a uneaten chocolate in my advent calender yesterday, and manging to get a joke present for my brother that he actually seems to be pleased with... there's a story to go with it, but I'll tell it to you later - after I've passed on my four pearls of wisdon regarding 'The Making of New Year Resolutions':

1) Always make at least 20 so that you have some chance of keeping one.

2) Try and make them contradict so you've got an excuse as to why your efforts of keeping then failed e.g. this year I intend to (a) relax more and (b) work very hard to pass my chartership exams. In the event of neither happening, I can always say that my failure to do (a) was that I was trying to do (b), and the reason I didn't do (b) was that I was trying to do (a) as well.

3) Make them vague enough for you to pretend that you've suceeded even if you haven't e.g. I intend to write more on my wiblog this year... whether this refers to number of posts, word count, average number of letters per word, or some other statistic shall be determined at the year end.

4) Make them in restrospect whenever possible e.g. start the year by arriving at work on time and writing a log entry at lunchtime.

I've done number 4 already! I feel so... err... resolved.
