TI & IT inefficiency

I have been extremely poor at updating my wiblog. I am truely sorry, repent and apologise to all my fans - particularly the one that is left.
My husband has been renovating his site and has removed me from his links list because I 'don't update ever'. In a TJ-typical foot-stamping paddy, I intend to make a point of [a] not linking his site, either (not that I link anyone - the technology is beyond my understanding) and [b] updating my wiblog regularly (well, for a month or so, anyway).

So. Here's today's update:
I'm at work - a big (evil) multi-national company. And I'm not working.
Yesterday morning something happened to our computer server - it gave up. I've wanted to give up for quite a while, but never had the courage to. I guess that, being an inanimate object, it didn't require much courage on the server's part.
All our project work is saved on the server, all our printers are linked via the server, and everying is maintained remotely by our IT section 'up North'. We couldn't access any of our work, we couldn't print anything, and the remote 'fixing' of the problem proved impossible. We spend a day thumb twiddling at our office before the IT section decide to send a man from London to 'sort us out'.
They recon the problem will be fixed by 10am today, so I have a lie in and then wander into work at 9:30. The IT man doesn't appear until gone 11. At 12:30 we get an e-mail announcing that the server is now 'physically fixed' but they have to back-up the whole system. Which they can't do until tomorrow.
I guess the good news is that I am an expert in thumb twiddling now... and despite nothing else working, we still have e-mail and internet access!
