a breath of fresh air...

I've been trying to take more walks recently. Fresh air is always good for the soul- particularly when the seaside is right on your doorstep.

I suggested to Him Who Is In Charge the other day that perhaps we could to get a dog. Then I'd have a proper excuse for heading down through the park to the sea regularly. But he said that there was only room for one Furry Quadruped in our house. Then he changed it to Large Furry Quadruped. Because of the two gerbils. Who, he said, were fair game for the cat if they ever got out. I think that she's simply intent of making friends with them because she hasn't a doggy friend to talk to.

So there I was, walking home from work, wondering how anyone could define our cat as 'large', when I saw a woman with a Really Tiny Dog on a lead. Only it wasn't a dog. It had a really fluffy tail like a cat. But it wasn't a cat, either. It was a ferret.

Since it was smaller than our cat, it surely can't be defined as a Large Quadruped, so I'm wondering if a ferret would be the answer to my problems.
Although I can't see a ferret wanting taking out for a walk twice a day.
And it probably couldn't walk as far as a Collie could.
And Mitsy probably wouldn't like it either.
So perhaps not.

I wonder how Mitsy would react to being put on a lead and taken down for a walk on the beach?
